Story Book

Some recent sketch work concerning kids books and more kid friendly ideas. The picture directly above turned out to be our Christmas card this year. The others are just ideas waiting for the right moment.

Hi Larry,
there are Some really nice sketches since I was last here.
you are certainly prolific.
I like the witch in the chair looks great. the girl with the umbrella is also interesting with the little window below her. Makes you wonder who is in there and are they friend or foe.
I like where you are going with the kid friendly illustration ideas, keep them coming they are great.
cheers

Hi Frank.
Thanks again for stopping by. I'll have more soon - just need to scan them.

It is always fun to stop by and see the new stuff on your blog! The Story Book post is amazing-I really like your critter concepts too.

I like your process of starting the mornings sketching to warm up. I am trying that on the book I am working on now. I probably do not do enough sketchy exploration normally...

I Hope the right moment comes soon!

Hey Frank what are you doing here? I didn't know you are a fan of LM's work too? Not many people out there doing this type of genre as nicely as Larry. Charles Vess is the only other illustrator I can think of. I am also a fan of Vess.

I'm glad you stopped by. I think you'll find it quite enjoyable to start the day working on something fun for yourself.
