Witches and Faeries - Doodle Session
I'm pretty much staying in the same zone for the time being - witches and faeries in the woods - more or less :) It is my intention to complete several, larger than usual personal pieces this spring and summer, but because I'm pretty busy at the moment with commercial projects there really isn't time for more than sketching. I want to stay on track and not lose focus so I continue to draw and redraw the same themes until I can actually sit down and paint them. This is good because it gives me some time to plan and consider what I'm doing - a luxury I do not always have.

Larry--
I really like that 'totem pole' of heads. It's a beautiful graphic setup, begging to be translated to final art just that way.
As always, terrific stuff.
Beautiful!
Thanks Thomas - The totem pole was not planned. It just unfolded that way as the doodles kept coming.
Craig - Storyboards - Patty is there too, for animation. Are you working on toonboom ?
Thanks Matt :)
Well as usual Larry you have set my imagination on fire. From these two doodles I find myself conjuring up a piece that goes something like this. In the background there is one of your earthy tree houses worth of a grand old warlock, out front is (the old man from your second doodle right down the bottom with the hat on). He is lurching over several young witches and warlocks, checking their magic brews, with the beautiful sprites (from the first doodle) sitting on a rock or tree branch peeking through the forest, watching the old man teaching the next generation of his kind. Love your stuff xxx
Thanks so much Tiny Pearl - I always love reading what you have to say about these doodles.
