Some sketchbook activity from the past few days - planning for a personal piece I have absolutely no time for.
With these ones I'm really interested in their hair and drapery - flowing and morphing it all together - string, moss, spider web and twigs. I want them to look like they just animated right out of the ground.

I am so enamored of your sketches. Absolutely wonderful. And it's not just cuz your subject matter is some of my favorite. woosh. I haven't checked with Bud Plant, do you have printed sketchbooks for sale out there?
Hey Thomas
I don't have a sketchbook out yet. It's on the "to do" list but thanks for asking. Cartouche Press published a small collection of my work back in '03 called Witching Hour.
Such wonderful expression and life in your sketches. But how do you get them to hold still for you??
Beautiful sketches!!! I love the pixie witches, the profile with the hair ornament is really nice. I will love to see a printed collection of your sketches.
Kim - Thanks so much for stopping by. It's actually quite simple to get them to sit still - if you set up a mirror, they will be so fascinated by their own faces that you can draw them in the reflection :)
Esther - Thanks so much - I'd love to get a sketchbook out this year - here's hoping :)
Your concept sketches are extremely beautiful. I can not wait for your sketchbook. Definitely looking forward to it if you do get to make one. Your concepts are just amazing.

Thanks so much. I'll be sure to announce the printing of my sketchbook when it's finally completed.
How did I NOT know YOU had a blog?!!! I'm not a very thorough and brainy internet scourer I guess. Anyway, I'll be checking yours out frequently - LOVE IT!!!!
Waw! I just have discovered your blog and your art! Impressive! It's really cool. Your pencil drawings are very dynamic!
Thanks Steve. I guess we'll need to swap links.
Hi Charlene.
I'm glad you found me. I hope you stop by again :)
