Recent Sketchbook 3

It took me a bit longer to get back here than I was expecting. I've been busy finishing up the Hobgoblin project - nearly there - another day or two and it'll be done. This post and the other 2 are more sketchbook stuff. Hopefully soon I'll have something more finished I can share.

Nice, I´m waiting for this. Meanwhile I can enjoy these fabulous sketches.

Hi Eric.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope to have some new finished work to show very soon. Through the winter I was working on a project, illustrating the world of Eragon, which as I'm sure you know is a very popular fantasy trilogy. I was primarily drawing the characters and the races of this world while 2 other very fine illustrators detailed the landscapes and the towns and cities. I'm hoping I can share some of this work shortly.

Awesome. Loving the character concepts and the way you're playing with line work. Are these ballpoint?

Thanks Su Haitao :)

Hi Emma

Yes ball point - bic in fact - you know the really cheap ones with the clear barrel so you can watch your ink supply dwindle away. I love them.
The others are prisma colour pencils.
Thanks for asking.

Are these in ball point pen? Really nice. I haven't been here in a few weeks and I see page after page of beautiful sketches. So nice! Very light. You make it look easy here.

Hi Craig

Yep - ballpoint pen. I like them because they are smooth and you can't get too fussy because there's no erasing - quick and easy.
