Sketchbook - Practice

Something a little different this time. I try to start everyday with some warm up or practice drawing, usually from reference as a way to ease into the work day. It doesn't feel right to me to just jump into an assignment without limbering up a little. I do this for fun but I also think it's good for me. I don't normally try to draw a thing "straight", but am usually coming from some kind of angle such as simplifying or exaggerating or distorting in some way. This keeps it interesting for me. My straight depictions usually look boring and typical to me so I try to jazz them up a little.

Pretty amazing work.

How long have you been doing this?

I am looking over your site more now.

Have a good night.

It's curious that you say so, I kind of feel the same way about starting the daily work, I usuallly need a little sketching to warm up. I find really really hard to start jumping into a final work without getting my brain in the mood, it's kind of like sex, isn't it? :D

Hi Breeze.
Thanks for stopping by. I've been at this for a while now - almost 20 years.

Hey Koldo.

You've got to get warmed up or you go in cold and injure something - like your assignment - plus it's a fun way to start the day.
