Lavender 2
This is the second finished illustration for the Irish Faerie Tale project I'm currently working on entitled Lavender Blue and the Faeries of Galtee Wood. This will be the third image in the book and shows a Faerie approaching Lavender's home in the middle of the night to secretly deliver a magical object that will propel Lavender on her journey. This will of course not be known to her when she wakes up in the morning but that is the way it is with Faerie adventures. By the time you begin to realize that something is amiss you are well down the rabbit hole and hip deep into your journey, or cataclysm, take your pick.

faerwillow - thanks so much for those words - very kind and inspiring.
TP and James - thanks guys :)
Very, very nice, Doog. This project may turn out to be your magnum opus.
Thanks Sam - I hope you're right - still lots to do :)
I just heard them mention you on an art podcast (Ninja Mountain Scroll), and so I looked you up. As soon as I saw this, I fell in love with you. ;)
Thanks Rachel - I haven't heard the pod cast yet. We met Jeremy at Illuxcon this year and had a wee chat.
Well I already can't wait to buy Lavender Blue, from the art samples in this blog. I came to look because, in the podcast, your art was compared to the art of the "Golden Age" illustrators - and I'm so glad I did!
