Irish Witches

A new book project is on the horizon and looks like it is going to require a lot of drawing and designing. We will be dealing with Irish myths and folklore - especially witches. This is the first bit of pencil work done for the project. There will likely be a lot more coming. :)

  1. What a perfect project for you. Already looking alive and full of personality. Did you use some neighbors as reference or do these beauties come right out of your noggin?
(Thank you for getting back to me about watercolor. I appreciate your response).

  3. Nice work Larry. Even at this early stage your designs have a great deal of personality to them.

The witch on the far left looks like the gal that used to cut my hair. * shivers *

  4. "WOW" Larry, one of my favourite subjects. Witches must be in the air at the moment. I have just sculpted a witches face and ready to create a doll. I love these sketches. I am looking forward to seeing you how you bring this book to life. "I will stay tuned as always" xxx

  5. Kim - I would never go to my neighbours for witch reference. They're far too normal looking. I always use family members. You are of course welcome - it was my pleasure to return your e-mail. I only wish I could have been more helpful.

  6. Wayward - They are quite happy. This book project is intended for a younger audience and we don't want to scare anyone too much, but we can have a lot of fun with expressions and characterizations.

  8. Tiny Pearl - I think witches are my favourite subject mainly because there is such limitless potential for them. They can be anything you want them to be.
