I've been thinking about dwarves lately. The Hobbit is due out in a few weeks and like many, I'm quite looking forward to it. Naturally I'm a little concerned about what is going to happen to the story, but I'm not too concerned about how the film will look. The design, from what little I've glimpsed on line, looks terrific.
Anyway, fingers crossed for the story and get in line when it hits theaters.
More soon. :)
Larry, I would so love to see you illustrate a volume or two or three of Tolkien. At least a calendar. Maybe you could petition for that, as I believe Kaluta did years ago.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing I would love more Thomas. If I was going to do it, I'd love to pick a series of obscure scenes that have not already been illustrated. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteFantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rawls ! :)
ReplyDeleteI would definitely buy the calendar if you're gonna make one! And good thinking about choosing obscure scenes to draw. There's nothing more delightful than seeing new illustrations of The Lord Of The Rings.
ReplyDeleteI've only recently started following your blogs, but loved your work and your wife's work since I moved to Canada 3 years ago. Fantasy and Fairytale illustration has always been my passion, and you inspire me with your dedication and love to it. Thank you, looking forward to seeing more beautiful art,
Taltal.
I think it's a wonderful idea, what Thomas Haller Buchanan suggested! I agree, Larry, I think your illustrations would be perfect for Tolkien, and C.S. Lewis too! I feel the same sort of childlike contentment when I look at your illustrations as I do when I look at those of Alan Lee or Pauline Baynes.
